Matty Benedetto is known for his YouTube channel Unneccessary Inventions, which aims to create weird inventions that many people don’t think about. Like many other Magic Mouse 2 users, Benedetto loves this mouse very much, except for charging it, the mouse has to be turned upside down and cannot be used when charging, so he thought of a way to solve it. problem.
First, Benedetto replaced the straight-ended Lightning cable with an L-shaped cable to shorten the distance between the mouse and the table when charging, Benedetto designed and 3D printed a lifting bar for the bottom of the Magic Mouse 2, The two sides of the lifting bar have metal ball bearings, inspired by the familiar ball mouse in the past.
The lift bar and two balls allow the mouse to still slide around the table while it’s connected to the cable, and the laser part is unaffected by this change. Thought everything was successful when the mouse could just plug in the cable and surf around on the table, but with all his creativity and ingenuity, Benedetto still couldn’t beat Apple.
How to charge and use Magic Mouse 2 at the same time
As it turns out, Apple prevented the Magic Mouse 2 from working when it was plugged in. The mouse can only receive electricity to charge the battery, can’t move the pointer or do anything.
Finally, you have to accept that the Magic Mouse 2 is designed by Apple to not be able to be used and charged at the same time. In return, the charging time of the mouse is quite fast and you don’t have to watch the mouse “reverse” to charge for too long.
