Earlier this week, Lenovo just launched a new laptop model of the T series, fully called the ThinkPad T16 Gen 1. This is the first 16-inch laptop in the ThinkPad T series, produced to replace the ThinkPad T15 large screen business laptop line. In addition to configuration upgrades, the ThinkPad T16 also has a new design and is quite different from the ThinkPad 2021 models.

Talking about the screen, the ThinkPad T16 is equipped with a 16-inch IPS LCD panel with a more modern 16:10 aspect ratio, instead of the familiar 16: 9 ratio before. This monitor has a 2.5K resolution, 500 nits peak brightness, 100% sRGB color coverage, and a touchscreen option.

Inside, the ThinkPad T16 Gen 1 brings the hardware power of Intel’s latest 12th generation processors, combined with up to 48GB of DDR4 RAM, 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSDs, and discrete NVIDIA MX550 or RTX 2050 graphics cards. In addition, the machine also has a version running AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 6000 chip, equipped with up to 32GB LPDDR5 6400MHz RAM and 2TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD.

In terms of battery life, this laptop model has two capacity options of 52.5Wh or 86Wh, both included with a fast charger inside the box. The model runs Intel chip and 86Wh battery supports fast charging up to 135W.

The ThinkPad T16 Gen 1 supports Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and LTE. The device has two USB-C ports, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, one HDMI 2.0b port, one RJ45 port, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a SIM card slot. The USB-C port on the Intel-powered models supports Thunderbolt 4, while the AMD model only has a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port.
