AirB and AirB Pro are BKAV’s first pair of true wireless headphones and will officially reach users in December.
However, the most different detail and also attracted a lot of attention from users in the past time, is the hinge of the charging box. Specifically, instead of using plastic or metal joints like on other product lines, the AirB’s hinge is just a wire connecting the two halves of the box together.
Previously, BKAV CEO Nguyen Tu Quang once explained, saying that this design is to “save for customers”. Therefore, BKAV used an extremely durable plastic instead.
Although the actual experience is relatively loose, however, the CEO of BKAV asserts that the AirB’s hinge is very durable and can withstand “millions of openings and closings” without damage. He even claimed that this rope can bear up to 14Kg and still be elastic.
“When I decided to use it, I was the one to directly test it and asked the Bkav Design Team to study this material carefully. Specifically, the tests showed: The AirB charging box hinge can withstand up to 14kg, and still can be elastic to the same size, while the weight of the charging case cover is only in grams.
With elasticity and strength, combined with a magnet mechanism that automatically closes the lid, it’s very interesting that the AirB charging case hinge, no matter how it is opened, turns itself back to the neatly closed position. Thus, you can be assured that the durability of the AirB charging box hinge, with MILLIONS of opening and closing, will not break or stretch.”, CEO Nguyen Tu Quang shared.
For those who are still skeptical about the durability of the hinge, Mr. Quang asserts that his company will “up to 5 years warranty on failure of this part”. The remaining components of the headset will be covered by the traditional 1-year warranty.
As far as we know, AirB is the first headset in the world where the manufacturer has a separate warranty for the hinge, not to mention a term of up to 5 years.
In a recent survey we held with the participation of more than 2,700 users, 89% of users said they have never experienced a broken hinge on true wireless headphones. This shows that hinge fracture is very rare.
Most cases of true wireless headphones with broken hinges come from external forces, such as when dropped or broken by children. These reasons are all considered by the manufacturer to be user errors, so they will not be eligible for warranty.
