NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics cards are now available starting from $299

NVIDIA RTX 4060 without the “Ti” flavor has been released

NVIDIA launches its first AD107-based desktop GPU.

A key takeaway from this launch is that NVIDIA RTX 4060 non-Ti does not use the same GPU as RTX 4060 Ti released a month prior. The new graphics card is powered by an AD107-400 graphics processor which has only seen its mobile launch so far. However, both AD106 and AD107 based graphics cards have actually a lot in common, such as low power requirements and memory configurations typically associated with entry-level models.

The GeForce RTX 4060 offers 8GB GDDR6 memory across a 128-bit memory bus. Compared to the Ti variant, we are looking at a slower memory clock of 17 Gbps. The 4060 has a low TDP of 115W, although some sites claim that NVIDIA is to release an update on that matter later, which could either results in slightly higher power or lower performance.

NVIDIA is not releasing a Founders Edition for RTX 4060, this graphics card will remain exclusive to board partner designs. The company has worked closely with AIBs to prepare as many “MSRP” models as possible, which resulted in a long list of cards covered by yesterday’s reviews.

According to those reviewers, the RTX 4060 delivers 10% to 20% better performance on average compared to RTX 3060 12GB depending on a resolution, image quality and title. The GPU offers support for newer DLSS3 technology with Frame Generation, and it packs NVIDIA’s newest NVENC encoder that is capable of AV1 encoding.

Gamers that already received their RTX 4060 graphics cards should install the new 536.40 driver. This driver focuses specifically on supporting this new graphics card.

You can grab RTX 4060 from Newegg and Amazon.
