Compare the performance of Galaxy S22 Ultra equipped with Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chips – LLODO

When Samsung and AMD announced a partnership to develop new GPU graphics processors for Exynos chips, the tech world’s expectations were high. There have even been reports that the graphics processing capacity of the new Exynos 2200 chip can surpass the Apple A15, which is the most powerful processor for smartphones. However, it seems that the expectations and assessments were greatly exaggerated.

Recently, Samsung has officially launched its latest Exynos 2200 processor. True to previous information, Exynos 2200 is integrated with a new GPU based on AMD’s architecture, especially supporting high-end graphics features such as ray tracing, first appearing on mobile devices.

Also shortly after, MySmartPrice announced the performance scores of the Galaxy S22 Ultra equipped with Exynos 2200 chip, and compared it with the S22 Ultra version equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. The results can be a bit disappointing.

Accordingly, the performance scores that the Galaxy S22 Ultra equipped with the Exynos 2200 chip achieved are:

– Antutu: 965,874 points.

– Single-core Geekbench: 1,108 points.

– Multi-core Geekbench: 3,516 points.

– GFXbench Aztec: 109 FPS.

Compare with the scores of last year’s Exynos 2100-equipped Galaxy S21 Ultra:

– Antutu: 657,150 points.

– Single-core Geekbench: 1,081 points.

– Multi-core Geekbench: 3,463 points.

– GFXbench Aztec: 71 FPS.

Finally, compare with the performance score of the Galaxy S22 Ultra version equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1:

– Antutu: 977,613 points.

– Single-core Geekbench: 1,235 points.

– Geekbench multi-core: 3,837 points.

– GFXbench Aztec: 139 FPS.

It can be seen that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor is not only marginally better in CPU processing performance, but also has higher GPU graphics processing performance.

However, the actual test depends on many different factors, such as temperature and power consumption. Therefore, we will have to wait until the Galaxy S22 series is officially launched, to have a more accurate realistic assessment of the gaming experience with the AMD GPU of Exynos 2200.
