ZTE recently introduced the Axon 40 series duo including Axon 40 Ultra and Axon 40 Pro. In which the Ultra version is a true flagship with many advantages in design, performance and screen, the Pro version will be a high-end device with a low price.
Axon 40 Ultra
The overall design language of the Axon 40 Ultra makes many people relate to the Galaxy S22 Ultra when it has a square screen design, curved on both sides and a large camera cluster on the back. The Axon 40 Ultra is 8.4mm thin and weighs 204 grams, which is slightly lighter than the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
The device is equipped with a 6.81-inch OLED screen, FHD + resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, supporting 100% DCI-P3 color gamut display. This is a 10-bit color screen, has an optical fingerprint sensor and notably, it has a built-in selfie camera hidden under the screen. ZTE was the first manufacturer in the world to launch a smartphone with a hidden camera under the screen and this year, the brand continues to bring this technology to a high-end device.
As announced by ZTE, Axon 40 Ultra has a 16MP selfie camera with a pixel size of 2.24μm. This is the 3rd generation hidden camera technology under the screen with an independent driver, equipped with a dedicated UDC Pro display chip. ZTE claims the Axon 40 Ultra has the same selfie quality as other flagships on the market.

Axon 40 Pro
The Pro version has reduced hardware and has a design that is not as advanced. Axon 40 Pro is finished from 2 glass sides but has a plastic frame. The device has a 6.67-inch AMOLED FHD + screen and has a 144Hz refresh rate but is a “mole” screen with a 16MP selfie camera.
The main camera on the back includes 4 lenses: 108MP wide angle, 8MP super wide angle, 2MP macro and 2MP depth measurement.
