City’s education show wins award

CityTV, Murfreesboro’s government and educational station, has received two Telly Awards which honor video and television across all screens, the city announced.

The national Telly Awards honors excellence in video and television and is judged by leaders from video platforms, television, streaming networks, and production companies.

Multimedia Producer John Padgett, with Lisa Trail and Tori Carr of Murfreesboro City Schools, earned a Silver 2023 Telly for producing “Take20 with Murfreesboro City Schools.”” Padgett also earned a bronze for a fire safety PSA, “Close the Door.”

In 2022, the schools show earned a bronze for the “Take 20” educational program.

““We are honored to again receive the recognition for video production from the Telly Awards,” “City Communications Director Alan Bozeman said in a city news release. “Congratulations to John Padgett, Lisa Trail, and Tori Carr for being honored for their work to promote education for a second straight year. It is a tribute to their vision and talent as communicators.”
