Intel is about to launch a Bonanza Mine processor that specializes in Bitcoin mining, super energy saving – LLODO

Intel is preparing to enter the mining field, with the announcement that it will launch a new processor chip called “Bonanza Mine”. Intel will officially announce this chip at the ISSCC 2022 Conference, taking place online from February 20-24.

As scheduled, on February 23, Intel will hold a workshop with the theme “Bonanza Mine: An Ultra-Low-Voltage Energy-Efficient Bitcoin Mining ASIC”. An ASIC is a microchip with chips designed specifically for a certain application, in this case the application is Bitcoin mining.

Intel’s Bonanza Mine processor will allow Bitcoin mining with high performance, but at the same time low power consumption. There are many speculations that Intel wants to compete directly with Bitmain, the giant that produces specialized Bitcoin miners.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard that Intel wants to get into the crypto market or the mining sector. Intel has shown its interest since 2018 and has applied for a patent of a specialized system that uses the optimized SHA-256 algorithm, which can be used for cryptocurrency mining.

Currently, information about Bonanza Mine is still very little, so we will have to wait until February 23 to know more details about Intel’s new Bitcoin mining processor. It is also unclear whether this processor will be commercialized soon or just an Intel research project.
