The Mortal Kombat 1 Stress Test began just yesterday and will go on until June 26. However, only a select few are able to participate during this period. More players will be given the opportunity to try out Mortal Kombat 1 sometime during the pre-order beta slated for August.
Those of us that weren’t lucky enough to be invited can still get a few ideas about how Mortal Kombat 1 plays based on the footage that content creators are putting out. Though there are only four playable characters (Sub-Zero, Liu Kang, Kenshi, and Kitana) and three Kameo characters (Sonya Blade, Kano, and Jax), we’re already learning quite a bit about Mortal Kombat 1.
Kenshi is particularly interesting in the Stress Test build as he’s both familiar and very different compared to his previous incarnations. What’s particularly unique about him this time around is his Sento Stance technique, which effectively allows Kenshi to temporarily become a puppet character.
As one might imagine, Kenshi’s pressure and combo capabilities are dramatically improved while being in control of two characters at once. With this in mind, EGSonicFox recently released a clip that really showcases Kenshi’s explosive damage output.
In the clip, SonicFox is able to perform a combo consisting of 20 hits that deals about 483.26 damage. Assuming that Liu Kang has 1,000 hit points, this means that the combo dealt a little over 48% of a health bar.
