When it comes to cleaning the bathroom, what should we pay attention to? At first glance, the question seems to be superfluous because everyone knows: first of all, it is necessary to clean the plaque on the sink, toilet and in the bathtub / shower glass. Next we will change the towels, wipe the surfaces from dust and finally scrub the floor. Done, so easy!
However, the hustle and bustle of life makes us rarely stop to think: are there other places that we have forgotten and haven’t cleaned yet? Take a few minutes to read this article, I’m sure you’ll be oh, oh repeatedly when you realize how distracted you are.
The reality is that while they collect as much dirt as any other part of the bathroom, these areas are often left out in the cleaning process.
To make your bathroom cleaning even more efficient, we’ve compiled a small list of “to remember” spots that are easy to check.
1. Shower head
If the water in your home area has a high hardness, special attention should be paid to monitoring the cleanliness of the shower head.
Many people think that the shower head has a high self-cleaning ability because the water flows through continuously every time you shower. However, the truth is not like that. The tap water that we use contains a lot of minerals and dissolved substances.
These mineral deposits can build up in the tiny holes in the nozzle of the shower bowl – especially if you don’t have a hard water filter installed. Over time, these plaques will clog the holes in the spray surface, affecting water pressure, deflecting the spray of the water jet and reducing the feeling of refreshment when showering.

To clean the spray face of a dirty shower is not difficult. You just need to remove the aluminum sprayed faceplate and soak it in lemon juice (or vinegar) overnight so that the mineral deposits (mainly calcium) are dissolved and softened, then scrub with a brush the next morning.
2. Bathroom curtain
The shower curtain helps to prevent water from splashing on the floor, but its disadvantage is that it is easy to attract dust, soap bubbles, water stains and other dirt on the human body.
In addition, because they are constantly exposed to water and moisture, bathroom curtains are an ideal place for bacteria and mold to grow.
If you take a look at the base of your shower curtain, chances are you’ll be startled to discover a dull yellow zone bounded by a straight line – the edge of the tub. These are traces of hard water and deeply embedded dirt.
To bring back the beauty of the curtain, simply wash it in the washing machine at the right temperature for the curtain material as recommended by the manufacturer.

3. Toilet flush button and base
The flush button and the base of the toilet are very easy to forget positions in the process of cleaning the bathroom.
It would be superfluous to explain why it is important to clean the toilet flush button. It is best to use special disinfectants to clean this part, but if you are the type of person who does not like cleaning chemicals, using a vinegar solution is not too bad.
The common one-piece toilet has a rather narrow base. Over time, this place is easy to accumulate dust and even droplets of human feces. So don’t forget to periodically clean the base and surrounding area – including the floor behind the toilet. Pay special attention to the seam between the floor and the base of the toilet!
4. Bathroom doormat
Although we step on the carpet every day when entering and leaving the toilet, not everyone remembers to wash it as often.
Just like the shower curtain, the surface of the doormat is always wet. Therefore, there is a rather scary fact: the doormat is the place to accumulate mold, bacteria and arthropods such as bedbugs, lice… most in the house. Therefore, you should wash your carpet periodically – at least once a week.
To increase the cleaning efficiency of the doormat, we should use a washing machine capable of washing hot water. Please set the machine to the highest possible temperature and use strong detergents to clean the carpet – vinegar is not enough at this time, friends!

5. Toothbrush holder
In any toothbrush holder there is a build-up of plaque. If you don’t believe it, take a look in your bathroom and see, you’ll be surprised.
We rarely pay attention to the toothbrush and toothpaste cups, so we don’t notice that the plaque appears rife on the sides and bottom of the cup. It is hard to believe that people use a toothbrush with the desire to clean their teeth, but often forget that the toothbrush cup is terribly dirty. Failure to clean this area causes the daily act of brushing to inadvertently introduce bacteria into the mouth.
To overcome this irony, we recommend using a steel brush holder with multiple openings. It will have less water retention, and it will be easier to spot stains than using a cup. And if you still don’t want to throw away your cute printed mugs, clean them regularly or put them in the dishwasher!
