Chills with the suit made of… mustache, but at least it’s made with good intentions – LLODO

Movember is an annual event where men wear a mustache in November to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate and testicular cancer. In support of this year’s Movember event, Australian menswear label Politix teamed up with artist Pamela Kleeman-Passi to create a unique suit using… mustaches.

Needless to say, this is probably the most disgusting looking suit ever, but at least with good reason.

The uniquely styled “Mo-Hair” suit was created by Melbourne visual artist Pamela Kleeman-Passi, and Passi had a very special reason to be involved in this project, as her husband passed away. for prostate and colorectal cancer in 2016.

Passi was supplied with all the mustaches needed by Sustainable Salons, a program that reuses hair and beards from various salons, and as news of the project began to spread, there were also people outside of Sustainable Salons send her mustache.

Passi weaved all the mustache fibers together with cotton to create this particular “fabric”, which was then passed on to Politix design director Paul Burden to be cut into a suit. To avoid the itching caused by the mustache in contact with the skin, Politix created a lining under the suit.

When the hair is still on you, it looks very beautiful. But when it leaves the body, it immediately becomes disgusting and causes people to panic.”, said Pamela Kleeman-Passi. “I’m interested in the polarity between something that’s both sexy and repulsive.”

WORN TO BE HEARD | THE MO-HAIR SUIT

Of course Mo-Hair is not a commercial product, but who really wants to wear it?
