Hello friends. Genuine remotes that come with TVs and air conditioners are “sick” after a long time of service, which is inevitable. In some cases, we can easily fix it with some simple ways such as replacing the battery or cleaning the contact surfaces, and if the disease is so severe that it cannot be cured, an alternative plan must be considered.
By the way, my Daikin 2-way air conditioner remote control broke some buttons (can’t be pressed), so I went online to find another remote.
Walking through a number of e-commerce sites, I was really surprised because the prices of the remotes are really diverse.
The same model, but there are ones for sale for just over 38K, some shops say “genuine goods” for 94K, or surprisingly high 420K.
In the midst of such a price matrix, I ordered the best type of duck with a price of 33K (original price 38K) to try to see if there was anything.
External inspection
The original remote is on the left hand side, while the market controller is on the right. From the outside, you can immediately see a few differences:
Front
+ In the middle and top of the original remote control has the Daikin logo, and on the market remote is the words “FOR DAIKIN A/C” ;
+ Blue color on the LCD screen border of the original remote and different market.
+ The font displayed on the LCD screen of the original control is bolder and sharper.
+ The font on the original control is bold, sharper and more glossy than the market control.
+ The feeling of pressing the buttons of the original remote is very boring, even stuck and I have to use my hand to pluck it to bounce back.
A special feature is that on the original remote, there is a small hole for resetting (resetting), and on the market remote, there is no such hole. From there, the position of the crown is also different.
Backside
+ On the bottom of the original remote control is printed with the code of the remote and the manufacturer’s recommendations in English, while the back of the remote control does not write any information.
+ The original remote uses 3 black screws, and the 33K controls are white steel.
Evisceration
After removing 3 screws on the back of both controls and prying the plastic levers, we can access the inside of the circuit board. This board is also fixed to the front of the controller with 3 screws (black screws – original control, white screws – market controls).
It is easy to see that on the back of the original control board there is a 4V/100 uF condenser and a blue 4 Mhz quartz, and on the market controller, there is a pre-printed position and a waiting hole for 1 capacitor but nothing. Where the infrared LED of the market controller is printed with a diode symbol, the original control does not have any symbols at the locations where the components are located.

+ It is surprising because on the circuit board of the original controller there is a quartz and many glued components (capacitors, resistors, transistors) while the 33K controller side has no components – except for the microprocessor. completely blank.
+ On the back of the microprocessor of the original remote with the code SBL3124S, the microprocessor of the market controller does not have any information.
+ The number of pins in contact with the LCD screen of the original control is also much higher than that of the market controller.
+ The LCD screen reflective sheet of the two remotes also has a difference in color: green (market goods) and gray (original). On the back of the original remote’s LCD screen, there is a number printed, while the market remote does not write anything.
Besides the most obvious difference in screen, the buttons of these two controls also reveal differences in “class”. Specifically, right before I removed it, I found the feeling of pressing the buttons of the market control very boring, and when holding 2 buttons in my hand, the cheapness of the market control was even more evident.
+ The button plate of the original control (left) has 2 unused buttons that are sunk but the back still has contacts; the buttons are carefully colored;
+ In the button plate of the market control (on the right), these 2 buttons are not filled with rubber, so they become 2 ugly torn holes; The buttons are patchy, showing that the coloring is extremely sloppy.
