DC Comics’ pinnacle hero, Superman, has seen the power of countless villains, but even so, he has to admit that none is as powerful as Marvel Comics’ Hulk.
Hulk has proven time and time again that he can go up against anyone in the Marvel Universe and fight “nice” – even Thanos admits he’s scared to fight Hulk in the Marvel Universe. Thanos Quest plot. When Superman encountered the strongest Avenger, he understood Thanos’ fear and said that the Hulk was stronger than anyone he had faced before.
In Roger Stern and Steve Rude’s The Incredible Hulk vs Superman, Superman and Hulk were in the same universe. When Hulk lost control in a densely populated area, Superman flew to the location of the green giant to stop him.
As the two begin to fight, Superman realizes that Hulk is much stronger than he initially thought. At one point, the Hulk even threw Superman into space, surprising Superman with the Avenger’s strength and speed.
While in space, Superman told himself that the Hulk was “stronger than anyone I’ve ever faced”. The Incredible Hulk vs Superman was released in 1999.
Although Hulk impressed Superman in this issue, this isn’t the first time he’s encountered a DC Comics A-Lister. In Len Wein and Jose Luis Garcia Lopez’s One-shot Batman vs The Incredible Hulk, the Hulk fought Batman after he was tricked by the Joker.
