Today, Nvidia has launched a new version of the RTX 3080 with 12GB of RAM. The new RTX 3080 has been upgraded with 2GB of RAM compared to the previous version of only 10GB, providing more choices for gamers who want to own a powerful graphics card.
In addition to the RAM memory, the new version of the RTX 3080 has 8960 CUDA Cores, an increase of 3% compared to the previous version. Bandwidth is also 20% more than the 10GB RAM version, thanks to a wider 384-bit memory bus.
Nvidia still recommends a 750W power supply, but this RTX 3080 12GB draws 30 watts more power, up to 350 watts total, compared to the RTX 3080 10GB’s 320 watts. This is basically a small upgrade of the previous version of the RTX 3080.
The 12GB RTX 3080 comes just days after Nvidia launched the new RTX 3090 Ti and the affordable RTX 3050. The RTX 3050 is also equipped with the most advanced features such as ray tracing and DLSS support, but costs only 249 USD.
The selling price of the RTX 3080 12GB version will be decided by partner manufacturers. Currently, only EVGA has announced the selling price of 1,249 USD.
