Vehicle companies are always looking for new markets, and flying cars are fast becoming the next target. There are already companies planning cars that can both fly and run on the road, and flying cars aim to form the platform of mobility in the future.

Jetson is one of these companies.

The company sets a goal “make it possible for everyone to use the sky in a safe, electric personal flying vehicle“. Jetson sold the company’s first flying car, the Jetson One, for $92,000 (VND 2.1 billion).

The Jetson One has a top speed of 100 km/h thanks to eight electric motors that produce 102 hp. It can work continuously for 20 minutes. This uptime is quite low and currently seems suitable only for recreational flying.

The flying car can take off vertically and then start moving in the air, but the company doesn’t say the maximum altitude it can reach. The vehicle can be controlled using a three-axis joystick, and there is a throttle to adjust the power.

Jetson doesn’t say much about the car’s safety features. The car’s chassis is inspired by the technology used on racing cars. The company also says that it will be able to fly even if it loses one engine. There’s emergency control, a LiDAR sensor with terrain-tracking capabilities to avoid obstacles, and a quick-deploy parachute. It can carry people with a maximum weight of 95 kg.

Jetson says the 2022 batch is already sold out and it will schedule new deliveries in 2023, but there are only a few seats left. The company is currently offering a deposit of 22,000 USD (~ 500 million VND).

However, it should be noted that this vehicle is shipped assembled and must be completed by the buyer at home.
